Issue No. 1

Poet E.E. Cummings looks directly at the camera while being photographed wearing a white shirt. His head is bald, and his left hand is at his neck.

POEM

i like my body when it is with your

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite new a thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body.  i like what it does,
i like its hows.  i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric furr, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh….And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new

E. E. Cummings’ poem “i like my body when it is with your” was written for Elaine Thayer and first published as “Sonnets—Actualities XXIV” in Cummings’ 1925 self-published collection “&”.

FILM

Le Samouraï (1967)

In Jean-Pierre Melville 1967 film Le Samourai, Alain Delon plays Jef Costello, a contract killer with samurai instincts. After completing a flawlessly planned hit, Jef is caught between a persistent police investigator and a ruthless employer. Elegantly stylized, cool and intruiging, Le samouraï is the perfect mix of 1940s American gangster cinema and 1960s French pop culture —with a touch of Japanese lone-warrior mythology.

Georgia O'Keeffe's painting Pink and Blue Mountain shows a deep green shade at the bottom, a deep blue in the middle, and a light pink at the top of a shape resembling a mountain.

Horizontal watercolor of a deep blue rounded hill shape, echoed in pink directly above. The blue covers most of the paper, bleeding down to lighter hues towards the bottom. The pink is only a strip of color along the top, with the background filled by a pale blue wash.
